What is the Symposium?
The Undergraduate Symposium on Research and Creative Activity (UGS) at Southern Miss is an annual event that showcases the outstanding work being done by undergraduate students across campus. The event is proudly co-hosted by The Drapeau Center for Undergraduate Research (DCUR) and the Honors College (HC). UGS Presentation and Arts Showcase awards are sponsored by Mr. Donald Drapeau and the Southern Miss Partners for the Arts, respectively.
If you have a research project that you have conducted or an artistic work that you have created as an undergraduate student at Southern Miss, this is the opportunity to share your work with the Southern Miss Community! We hope you will participate either as a presenter or as an attendee at the next UGS, which will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2024.
UGS Abstract Submission
The UGS submission portal is now open.
Students who graduate in December are eligible to present the following spring.
Students are limited to one abstract submission (poster or oral presentation as presenter or co-presenter) but may submit an abstract and an item for the Arts Showcase.
To learn about submission guidelines, visit our guide for presenters.
